Software-hardware combo gives education industry a single solution for managing both 2D and 3D printing devices
Y Soft, an enterprise office solutions provider, has added YSoft be3D eDee (eDee), a comprehensive solution for 3D and 2D (paper) printing devices.
eDee is a computer desktop 3D printing device integrated with YSoft SafeQ, the major print management, workflow and accounting solution. With YSoft SafeQ may already on the market for 2D printing devices contributeing reduced print services costs, increased document security and improved productivity, educational institutions can now receive the benefits of print management across their entire 2D and 3D printing device fleets.
Increasingly, educational institutions are adopting fleets of 3D printing devices and producing them on the market to students and staff on campus-wide networks.
Onvia, a research company which tracks government purchasing contracts which include those in education, stated which “Teaching with 3D printing devices can be the norm. In 2016, the amount of 3D printing purchases go on to grow as these printing devices are accepted as an essential part of school makerspaces and as prices for the printing devices go on to fall.” Y Soft provides examples of student 3D print projects on its website.
As a networked resource, 3D printing devices bring much like and one-of-a-kind challenges to 2D printing devices. Unique challenges include an belief of the total time/3D material cost per print job; access control/door locks to prevent the object being taken or the print job stopped by another student; and efficient workflows to access on the market 3D printing devices or easily reprint a 3D object. eDee’s print management tools solve these one-of-a-kind challenges.
Key to the YSoft Be3D eDee solution is a fully automated, enclosed computer desktop 3D printing device. With an intuitive 7-inch touch screen panel and print bed auto-calibration, eDee creates high high end objects with accuracy and speed. Designed with “safety-initially” in mind, its showcases increase safe operation and integrity of the print object.
“In education, where 3D printing device adoption is expanding quickly, we see which administrators require to manage and audit 3D printing device use and costs as they do with 2D printing devices,” said Vaclav Muchna, Y Soft CEO and co-discovereder. “With YSoft be3D eDee, we are the initially to contribute educational institutions a seamless solution which provides all the benefits of print management for their 2D and expanding 3D printing device fleets.”
YSoft be3D eDee can be on the market under early access in Q2 2016 through Y Soft’s global network of channel partners. Additional information of eDee, which include printing device specifications, can be discovered at www.ysoft.com/edee.
