Sculpteo Will Ship Parts in 48 Hours or Order is Free

by • April 10, 2016 • No Comments

  • A little over a year after Shapeways tried out its own 2-3 day RUSH shipping service, Franco-American 3D printing service Sculpteo is initiating its own swift delivery service. The firm’s “Express Production” service promises which orders can be shipped inside 48 hours of ordering. Express Production is a bit bolder than the Shapeways pilot, providing a money-back guarantee if parts are not shipped inside 48 hours. Of course, there is a catch: Express Production is just on the market on non-polished, white plastic parts, the same caveat provided by Shapeways’ RUSH service.

Fast Mode and RUSH both seem geared at tackling the speed issue synonymous with 3D printing. One of the sizeablest advantages which 3D printing offers to businesses is the skill to generate prototypes swiftly; yet, if you have to wait in line for which part to be shipped to your door, what great is it? Such a wait can cause users to just go out and purchase their own 3D printing device, if they’ve got the money and the require, or turn to a distributed making network to have parts printed locally, when possible.

In turn, sizeable service bureaus may require to rely on such programs to meet the demands of clients utilized to Amazon’s next-day delivery. In addition to Sculpteo and Shapeways, FATHOM studios in Seattle has created its own edition of next-day delivery. CloudDDM discovered its own one-of-a-kind solution to the problem by establishing itself right in the heart of UPS, giving the industrial service provider access to same day delivery anywhere in the world.
