SAP and APWorks to accelerate on-demand industrial 3D printing for aerospace industry – 3ders.org (blog)

German software solutions corporation SAP SE has pretty been producing a name for itself inside the 3D printing industry, having not long ago partnered with UPS to establish a U.S. wide on-demand 3D printing network. As part of the co-innovation agreement, which was revealed at the ongoing Farnborough International Airshow in Hampshire, England, APWorks can capitalize on SAP’s 3D printing services network in order to create and run a bionics network which can assist to connect 3D printing experts and end users. According to a press release, SAP’s 3D printing services can “allow APWorks to manufacture 3D printed components such as armrests and brackets, improve fuel efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions.” Through the partnership, the aerospace company can in addition be advantageous equipped to handle spare part orders in a timely manner and to donate industry-grade products for different types of safety-critical purposes.
