Google has filed a pair of patents with the USPTO which aim to reinvent how we interact with printed media.

Google’s 2nd patent is for the Interactive Book’s spiritual predecessor, the “Media Enhanced Pop-up Book.” Rather than via a micro-projector, the MEPB leverages a phone or tablet to donate introduced content. Every page of this book has a 2ndary, digital page which “opens” vertically on the mobile device. Of course, as with all patents, there is perfectly
no guarantee these can in fact become real products — or actually prototypes, for which matter.
