Custom Drone Shoots Nurf Disks at Day of Drones

by • March 9, 2016 • No Comments

Earlier this week I went to the Liberty Science Center to attend the Day of Drones, and got to see one of the coolest custom created drones at any time. This drone is capable of firing (safe) nurf-like disks as projectiles while flying. Built by developer Andy Shen of Shendrones, Andy demonstrated by knocking over stacks of plastic cups to the audiences enjoyment.

Organized by the Drone User Group of New York and New Jersey, the Day of Drones gave families and friends an opportunity to get up close with this absorbing innovation in a STEM friendly environment. The event included a drone racing competition, demonstrations on how FPV headsets and racing drones work, an amazing screening of the Drone Film Festival and finally a “Droneasium” an enclosed space where individuals may show off their custom created quadcoptors.

Check out the video at a lower place for additional footage of the event and this awe-inspiring custom created drone!
