3D Systems Announces Availability of MJP 2500 3D Printer

  • In time for AMUG, 3D Systems has revealed the commercial availability of its newest MultiJet Printing (MJP) 3D printing device, the ProJet® MJP 2500 Series. The system implements 3D Systems’ own brand of material jetting innovation into an office-friendly machine intended for creating exact models, prototypes, and end-parts.


    What’s many amazing of the MJP 2500 is which it makes use of the company’s new MJP EasyClean System, a specialty system for post-systeming without guide intervention. The machine 3D prints UV curable resin for the part itself, while a wax assist material fills in gaps. Once the print is deplete, the wax material is washed away, leaving just the detailed part. 3D Systems claims which the wax material is non-toxic, so there are no rigorous chemicals involved. The new series is on the market in the form of the the MJP 2500 and the MJP 2500 Plus. Whilst both materials can use VisiJet® M2, a type of black or white plastic, the Plus can in addition use rigid, clear plastic, as well as flexible materials.


    Nike has been via the new system as a beta tester, with the company’s Rapid Prototyping Manager, Haleigh Doremus, saying of the machine, “We have been incredibly impressed with the results of the ProJet MJP 2500. It complements our current technologies and systemes and allows for us to print rigorous geometries which were previously not easy on other printing devices in this class.
